Stomach Filling Home Remedy

Satiating power is a term used to describe how filling a food can make you feel. The best satiating power is found in foods with high levels of protein, dietary fiber and water, where the least satiating power is related to higher fat foods. A home remedy staying within these guidelines will help you to feel full with healthy foods and eat less.
  1. Home Remedy Filling Drinks

    • One remedy for filling your stomach in a healthy way is to drink water, at least one full eight ounce glass before eating. By doing this 10 minutes before having a meal or snack, the water will take up space in your stomach, and you will eat less due to feeling full. This adds no calories to your daily diet.

A cup of low sodium chicken broth, instead of coffee or tea in the afternoon, will fill you up and stop any urge you have to eat. Coffee and tea can stimulate your appetite, whereas chicken broth staves off the hunger, giving you a feeling of fullness, just like you ate a meal.

    Home Remedy Filling Snacks

    • A filling home remedy made from almonds, dried apricots, dried bran cereal and dry grape nut cereal in a trail mix fashion will fill your stomach if you drink this with water. The grape nuts and bran cereal will expand in your stomach, giving you the feeling of fullness, after eating very little. This makes a healthy snack for in between meals if you get hungry.

Make your own stomach filling cookie, very much like the ones sold in the stores sold as meal replacements. This home remedy can be eaten for breakfast or lunch along with a glass of water for filling your stomach. By replacing the flour with unsweetened oatmeal and dried high fiber fruit in place of the sugar in a cookie recipe, you will have your own stomach filling health bar. Bran cereal can also be added, in place of some of the oatmeal.

    Home Remedy Filling Meals

    • A home remedy for filling your stomach at dinner is to eat a baked potato, but instead of butter, use yellow mustard. Two baked potatoes with yellow mustard and a glass of water will fill you up as if you ate a five course meal. Low sodium chicken broth can be used instead of yellow mustard; this adds a savory taste with out the calories.

Low sodium chicken broth with boiled potatoes, carrots and cabbage is very filling as a meal. This home remedy will not only fill you up, but it is tasty. Chicken broth adds flavor and takes the bitter taste out of foods like cabbage. This takes a very small amount, about a cup and a half, to fill up even the largest of appetites.
