How to Calculate Percent of Weight Loss

Determine your starting weight. Weight loss percentage is calculated based on your original weight.

Determine your current weight. Subtract your current weight from your starting weight to determine your total weight loss, or total pounds lost.

Divide your total weight loss (total pounds lost) by your starting weight. Your result will come out as a decimal; multiply the result by 100 to determine your weight loss percentage.
