How to Get Rid of Fat Rolls & Flabby Skin on the Stomach & Abdomen
Love handles. Rolls. Gut. There are dozens of names for that flabby blob around our abdomen, but they are really one in the same. Fat accumulates around the stomach due to lack of exercise and poor diet, plain and simple. While it's true that some body fat is good and beneficial, excessive body fat can lead to harmful diseases and reduce one's life expectancy. Getting rid of body fat, including abdominal fat, requires a number of lifestyle and dietary changes that many find difficult. Eat a healthy diet consisting of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes and lean proteins. Think about what you eat and try to reduce your daily caloric intake. It's OK to pig out on junk food occasionally, but the idea is to maintain an overall healthy diet in which fatty, sugary foods are rarely consumed. Fiber is an important nutrient to help stimulate weight loss. Drink lots of water, too, because water helps clean and maintain your system for optimal performance.

Avoid high calorie foods and beverages. The truth is if you burn more calories than you consume, you will begin to lose weight, whether it's in your belly, thighs or arms. The key is to be consistent and patient. Avoid fatty foods, sugary foods, processed foods, beer and soft drinks. Beer is a big one because it has a lot of calories and negatively affects the liver and pancreas. Lose the beer and you'll shed that beer gut in no time. Sugar is bad because your body converts it into fat if it goes unused.

Exercise regularly, even if it's something as simple as walking. You burn calories doing just about anything but the more active the activity, the more calories you burn. If you're eating a healthy, low-calorie diet, however, you won't need to jog 20 miles a day. A 30 minute walk every day can speed up weight loss immensely. Lose weight from your body, and you'll lose that belly fat.

Try some abdominal exercises in the gym or at home. You don't need any fancy equipment or 50-pound weights. You can work your abs the old fashioned way by doing sit-ups, crunches and leg lifts. With stronger abdominal muscles, you will burn fat and keep it off easier. Just realize that all the sit-ups in the world won't do you any good if you're still eating Big Macs three times a week and not getting any aerobic exercise.
