Coffee and tea do not have a significant amount of calories, but what you add to them can. You can drink coffee; just be careful what goes in it. Sugar substitutes are considered free foods. Although water is the beverage of choice, diet soda and diet drinks such as Crystal Light are also considered free foods.
Vegetables such as lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots and onions can be eaten in large quantities as they too are very low in calories therefore exact portion sizes need not be given as long as they are not eaten in excess.
It is important to note that this sample meal plan is for a healthy individual without any existing health conditions. Always consult your physician before starting any diet.
