How to Get Rid of Fat Fast

Losing fat slow is easy: eat less, exercise more. Losing fat quickly is more difficult and can be dangerous. However, some people feel the need to drop a few pounds in time for some anticipated event like a wedding or beach vacation.

While starvation diets are dangerous and don't usually work, a combination of a low-carb diet, water cleanse and vigorous exercise will help you drop the pounds fast. Keep in mind that this will not be a sustainable lifestyle, and many people put the pounds right back on (sometimes with interest) after a short time on this routine.

Instructions

  1. The Low-Carb Diet

    • 1

Choose one of the many low-carb diets that exist, such as Atkins, Zone and South Beach.

    • 2

Observe that diet to the best of your ability. Many diets allow a 'day off' from time to time, but low-carb diets don't work that way.

    • 3

While on the low-carb diet, consider a water cleanse. Double the amount of water you drink during a day. This can help with short-term weight loss by cleaning out toxins.

    • 4

Check with your doctor at the beginning of the diet, and if you experience any health problems while losing weight.

    Vigorous Exercise

    • 5

Complete a cardio workout for 40-60 minutes three days a week. Aim for moderate to vigorous effort, breaking a sweat and breathing just hard enough to interfere with speech.

    • 6

Do a full-body weightlifting workout on three other days of the week. Ask your personal trainer or consult a good fitness website to choose the right workout for you.

    • 7

Do one minute each of pushups and sit-ups (or crunches) each day, just before bed and just after getting up.

    Track Progress

    • 8

Record your workout results each day: type of cardio workout, weight lifted and number of pushups and sit-ups.

    • 9

Record your weight and waist measurements once per week.

    • 10

Celebrate your successes by rewarding yourself when you reach your goals.
