Sauna Belt Effectiveness

Sauna belts are designed to facilitate weight loss when applied to specific parts of the body. The device's effectiveness has not been scientifically established, but there is anecdotal evidence that people have lost weight by wearing a sauna belt.
  1. Construction

    • Belts are typically constructed from a lightweight material that fastens with Velcro. The material stretches and conforms to the area where it is applied. The belt is easy to apply and extremely flexible. Most belts are either machine or hand washable. Belts should be wiped down with a wet rag after use. This will prevent a buildup of dirt and sweat.

    Effectiveness

    • Sauna belts are marketed in three varieties: electric, battery operated and infrared. Adjustable heat control is available on all belts. Battery-operated sauna belts offer the ease of mobility. The infrared sauna belt allows you to focus on a specified area and apply heat directly. Sauna belts are designed to work like mini-saunas. They produce heat, which increases the sweat production over applied areas. Belts are commonly worn around waist or thighs and over buttocks.

The increase in sweat is supposed to cause a release of unwanted toxins. Sweating in general helps cleanse and detoxify our bodies. When worn around waist, the sauna belt functions as a back support. This helps keep the back straighter when walking and standing. This causes you to stand taller, projecting the appearance of being thinner.

    Considerations

    • Sauna belts are fairly inexpensive when comparing the cost to other weight loss alternatives. A sauna belt can be comfortably worn while performing exercise routines or when running errands. Sauna belts are not medical products; consult a physician to determine whether you can safely use this product.
