The Best Way to Flatten Lower Tummy
If you want to get a flat lower belly, you'll have to maintain a strict diet and exercise regimen. There is no easy way out. Many women find that this "pooch" is one of the hardest areas to tone up. Even though you may try to focus on abdominal exercises, you may not notice a difference until you take a more well-rounded approach. The best way to flatten lower tummy is to attack fat from three different angles--abdominal strengthening exercises, performing cardio exercise and eating healthy.-
Abdominal Exercises
-
Choose abdominal exercises that focus on the lower abdomen. For example, you can do leg lifts--lie on your back and slowly lower your legs up and down. If it's too hard at first, you can bed your legs slightly.
A Pilates routine can also help you to flatten your lower tummy. Pilates works the whole core--all of your abdominal muscles--including your lower ab muscles. The key to an effective Pilates routine is to hold all other muscles still as you work one muscle group. You only need to do a 20-minute routine three times a week to see good results.
When working your abdominal muscles, be sure to give them time to rest. You shouldn't do an ab workout every day. Every other day is enough time to rest your abs.
Cardiovascular Exercises
-
Cardiovascular exercises will help you get rid of the lower belly fat that covers your lower ab muscles. You should try to do at least 30 minutes of a cardiovascular exercise five times a week. For best results, choose an intense activity, such as jogging or cycling. Your heart rate should be elevated at the end of your workout.
If you don't have much time, consider high intensity interval training, or HIIT. To do this, alternate 20 seconds of very intense activity with one minute of recovery time. For example, sprint for 20 seconds, then jog for a minute, repeating eight times.
Eating Clean
-
Eating healthy foods will help you to get rid of the last bit of fat. Unhealthy foods can cause bloating, making your lower belly stick out. One of the best ways to increase the health of your diet without counting calories is to "eat clean." This is a method of eating that eliminates all junk food, refined carbohydrates and additional salt. Focus your diet on whole grains, lean meats or vegetable protein sources and fresh fruits and vegetables. You'll begin to notice a big difference in stomach bloating and an increase in fat loss.
