Losing weight is easy -- just reduce your intake of calories, right? But if you're used to having a glass, or two, of wine with dinner, that can seem easier said than done. First, just drink a full glass of water -- 8 ounces or so -- before you eat or drink anything else. Make it a habit.

Second, have your glass of wine with dinner -- or whatever you usually drink. Sip it slowly. Savor it. Make it last. And before you refill that glass, refill it first with another glass of water. Try a bottled water or sparkling variety, or add a wedge of lemon for added taste.

Still thirsty? Consider diluting your alcoholic drink with a sparkling water, tonic, or club soda -- the fewer calories the better. The key is to substitute low or no-calories liquids for the higher-calorie alcohol or other drinks you might have chosen instead. Even if you only reduce your intake by one glass of wine, you are still reducing your intake.
