How to Tighten the Belt on a NordicTrack Walkfit
All machines require some maintenance, and a NordicTrack Walkfit is no exception. Following the maintenance schedule by cleaning the treadmill deck and belt after each workout, lubricating the deck after every 15 hours of use and cleaning the drag strip and flywheel monthly will help keep your NordicTrack as fit as you. However, over time, the treadmill belt may loosen, making the NordicTrack Walkfit difficult to use and possibly resulting in injury.Things You'll Need
- NordicTrack Walkfit
- 5/32 in. Allen wrench (comes with the machine)

1
Try to realign the treadmill belt. If the belt seems too far to the left, put your left foot on the ground and your right foot on the left-hand side of the belt. Rotate it several times. If the belt leans to the right, put your right foot on the ground and your left foot on the right-hand side of the belt and rotate it several times.
-
2
Unplug the machine if realigning the belt did not work. Some WalkFit units, such as the WalkFit Plus, need to be plugged in. Others, such as the WalkFit Pro, will not have an electrical plug.
-
3
Move the arm-exerciser poles to the forward position and lock them.
-
4
Lift the back end of the treadmill and let it rest on the arm-exerciser poles. Make sure the treadmill is stable.
-
5
Use your Allen wrench to turn the adjustment bolts, located on the rear of the treadmill deck, clockwise to tighten the belt. (Turn counterclockwise if you need to loosen it.) Alternate turning each bolt one quarter turn at a time and adjust both bolts the same amount.
-
6
Check the resistance. You should be able to barely slip your hand between the treadmill deck and the belt. Turn the adjustment bolts more if necessary.
-
7
Tip your NordicTrack back into its upright position and plug it in if it has an electrical cord.
