Citramax Side Effects

Citrimax is a diet supplement that is marketed as a quick way to lose weight, burn fat and increase metabolism. Citrimax is comprised of all natural ingredients including vitamins, herbs and minerals. Citrimax contains the stimulants caffeine, green tea extract and yerba mate. Before choosing the use Citrimax, schedule a consultation with your physician to make sure that Citrimax will be a healthy addition to your exercise and weight loss plan. This will also ensure that Citrimax does not interact with any of the medications you are taking.
  1. Dehydration

    • Citrimax contains ingredients that cause an increase in metabolic rate. This may cause the body to lose more fluids (mainly water) through increased perspiration and urination. To prevent dehydration when taking Citrimax, make sure to increase your fluid intake (especially water). Muscle cramping can occur from dehydration, so if you are using Citrimax in conjunction with working out heavily three to five days a week, it is imperative that you increase your fluid intake. Failure to do so makes it easier to damage muscle tissue, ligaments and tendons.

    Stimulants

    • Citrimax contains caffeine, green tea extract and yerba mate. Any product that contains stimulants has the potential to increase both heart rate and blood pressure. If taken too late in day, the stimulants present in Citrimax may cause insomnia or other issues with sleep. If you have a heart condition or another cardiovascular condition, consult your doctor before using Citrimax.

    Nausea

    • Some users of Citrimax may develop nausea. This is generally due to the body adjusting (gaining a tolerance to) the ingredients found in Citrimax. In most instances, the nausea will subside within three to four days of beginning use. If nausea continues to be an issue while taking Citrimax, it is advised that you explore alternate supplement options to aid you in your weight loss goals.

    Interactions With Prescription Medications

    • Citrimax contains tyramine, which is known to interact with MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitor) medications. The known side effects of the interaction are headaches, stroke, nausea, and increased blood pressure. The labeling for Citrimax does not indicate that it will interact with MAOI based medications.

    Constipation

    • Constipation is a commonly reported side effect of Citrimax use. Constipation occurs when the body does not have enough fluids to produce regular bowel movements. Citrimax will cause water weight loss with use which can lead to constipation. To avoid constipation, make sure to increase your intake of fluids. To relieve constipation, use a laxative or stool softener. Eating a high fiber diet will also decrease the likelihood of experiencing constipation while using Citrimax.
