1200 Calorie Metabolism Diet
Trying to lose weight is a problem many people experience in their lives. It can be difficult to find the right balance of food and exercise. Some people are cutting back their calories levels to achieve weight loss. One of these diets is the 1,200 calorie a day diet. On a 1,200 calorie a day diet, you have to eat very efficiently to get the nutrition you need.-
Breakfast
-
The calories you get from your breakfast should be healthy. For example, one cup of Quaker oatmeal squares covered in four ounces of non-fat milk would be less than 200 calories. Four ounces of orange juice and a half a cup of blueberries would add up to a breakfast of about 300 total calories with one grain serving, one dairy serving and two fruits. The sugars from these fruits are the good kinds of sugar, and they will help keep your body running smoothly.
Midmorning Snack
-
In a 1,200 calorie a day diet, you can't eat three meals a day. This will cause your calories to be too widely spread out and can lead to cravings and binging. Break your day up into five meals. About two or three hours after breakfast you should try to have a snack. Eight whole grain crackers with one slice of deli cheese will add up to around 200 calories. At this point in the day, you will have 500 calories, three grains, two fruits and two dairies. The food you've been eating is incredibly low in fat so the calories you're getting are extremely healthy.
Lunch
-
A nice light lunch will help keep you going at the midway point of your day. A tuna fish sandwich on two slices of whole grain bread flavored with low fat mayo will add up to around 300 hundred calories. For taste, you can also use onions in your tuna, but go lightly. You should also integrate two cups of raw veggies into your lunch and one apple. These veggies and the apple will only add minimal calories to your day but have a lot of vitamins and minerals you need. At this point, you'll have 800 calories, five grains, three fruits, two dairies, two veggies and one meat serving.
Afternoon Snack
-
An afternoon snack should be pretty minimal. You've already eaten most of the calories you will ingest in the day. Try eating a nectarine with a little lemon-flavored water. The nectarine will boost your energy and speed your metabolism and the water will help keep your well-hydrated. The nectarine and water will add only about 100 calories to your diet and will help bring your daily fruit requirements to a close.
Dinner
-
For dinner, you can make a small pasta dish. One cup of noodles is about two hundred calories. Put one serving of little fat-free sauce in the pan. This sauce will usually end up being around another 100 calories. Boil two servings of vegetables to add some vitamins and minerals into your diet and to finish your veggie requirement. At this point, you'll have around 1,200 calories and seven grains, four fruits, two dairies, four veggies and one meat. Vary this diet from day to day to include more meat and dairy into your diet.
