Anti Inflammatory Herbs for Weight Loss

Weight loss can be difficult for some people and no matter how hard they try, they just can't seem to lose weight. Herbal supplements can help stimulate the body and help you lose weight. Many of these weight loss herbal supplements also treat inflammation.
  1. Garcinia Cambogia

    • The Diet Channel states that Garcinia Cambogia "is rich in a substance called hydroxycitric acid, or HCA, which is believed to promote weight loss by blocking the conversion of sugars and starches into fats" and that it "...it is also thought to aid in suppressing appetite by raising certain brain chemicals, such as serotonin." This chemical also helps to treat inflammation. Integrating garcinia cambogia into your diet on a regular basis may help you lose weight. This herb is available at herbal supplement stores and requires no prescription.

    Cayenne

    • Cayenne is another anti-inflammatory herb that helps promote weight loss. It does this by stimulating digestion. Natural Weight Loss Web states that it "...contains a substance called capsaicin..." which not only stimulates digestion but which may "...increase metabolism and fat burning." The best way to lose weight is by increasing your metabolism. When your metabolism is increased, your food is digested quicker and its energy is distributed much more efficiently. Using cayenne, along with exercise and a balanced diet, can help to increase your metabolism and help you lose weight.

    Guarana

    • Guarana is another excellent anti-inflammatory herb that helps stimulate weight loss. Guarana works by suppressing the appetite. This herb is found mostly in Brazil, with one of its main ingredients including caffeine. The Diet Channel tates that "... guarana is a nervous system stimulant that may suppress appetite and promote weight loss" and that "Five hundred to a thousand milligrams yields approximately the same caffeine levels as two cups of coffee per day." They warn that much more than that can cause nervousness and irritability. It stimulates the metabolism much in the same way as caffeine, so it should be used sparingly.
