How to Get a Small Waist

A small waist is an essential component of the visually appealing hourglass shape. Follow these steps in order to get a lean, tiny waist.

      Obtain a healthy body weight.

      For most people, it's almost impossible to get a small waist without weight a healthy body weight. The most important step you can take to getting a tiny waist is staying within that healthy range. Use a clean diet and regular cardio to keep your weight down.

      Do criss-cross, or bicycle situps.

      These situps whittle your middle and give you a skinny waist; lie down like you are going to do a regular situp. Pull your left elbow up to meet your right knee; lower to the ground, and repeat on the next side. Never bring your knees in past a 90* angle, to make your abs work the hardest.

      Dance!

      Dancing works a lot of different abs muscles and can help you get a thin waist. When you dance, you'll likely work stomach muscles you never even knew you had!

      Suck in your stomach.

      Something as simple as keeping your stomach pulled in tight all day long will give you a small waist. Not only because you are "sucking it in"; it also builds muscle tone.

      Avoid foods that have a lot of sodium and don't drink any kind of carbonated beverage.

      Watch the sodium content in the foods you eat in order to avoid the bloat that comes along with. To get a small waist, don't drink pop, either, as it is likely to expand the waistline and make you more round than you wish.
