Cortidrene vs. Relacore

The manufacturers of both Cortidrene and Relacore make a number of promises related to weight loss. The primary claim is that these diet pills help to reduce stress and control appetite--both factors that may aid a person in losing weight, particularly in the stomach area. Whether one of these supplements is any safer or more effective than the other has not been scientifically determined; however, the manufacturer of Cortidrene offers more information about its product than the manufacturer that produces Relacore.
  1. Cortidrene

    • Cortidrene is manufactured by Wellspring Laboratories. Although no prescription is required, the makers of the diet capsule claim that this nutritional supplement promotes weight loss by controlling stress. The supposition they offer is that lower stress levels allow the body to burn more calories. Active ingredients include green tea to give a person more energy by boosting metabolism, magnolia to suppress appetite, beta-sitosterol (a plant sterol that may help normalize blood sugar), and suntheanine to promote relaxation. Other ingredients include vitamin C and herbs. Cortidrene capsules are to be taken twice daily, a few minutes before eating lunch and dinner.

    Cortisol

    • Cortisol is a stress hormone produced by the adrenal gland. The body needs cortisol to regulate its metabolic processes, but sometimes it produces too much. High cortisol levels have been linked to increased appetite, weight gain, depression and diabetes. The makers of Cortidrene maintain that the dietary supplement helps to control cortisol levels within the body, thereby speeding metabolism so an individual can lose weight. As with other weight-loss programs, how much weight a person loses is dependent on diet and level of activity.

    Warning

    • Women who may be pregnant or who are nursing should not take Cortidrene. Certain of the ingredients contained in the compound may cause an allergic reaction in some people. Although side effects are possible, the drug contains no ephedrine. Immediately discontinue use of the drug if you experience any unpleasant side effects. Talk to your doctor before taking this or other dietary supplements, particularly if you have any medical conditions or are taking medications, which might interact with ingredients in the supplement. And note that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not evaluated the manufacturer's claims related to the suggested benefits of this product.

    Relacore

    • Relacore is marketed as a diet pill that helps people lose weight. The manufacturers of the supplement claim that it also reduces stress and improves mood. As with other weight-loss pills, the supplement is to be taken daily, in combination with eating a healthy diet and getting regular exercise. The drug's effectiveness is based on a suggested correlation between belly fat and stress. Although Relacore is supposed to contain only all-natural ingredients and not contain any stimulants, it is recommended that pregnant women not take the drug.

    Other Relacore Products

    • The makers of Relacore offer Relacore Extra and Relacore PM in addition to the original formula. Claims are that the diet pill reduces stress and mild anxiety, increases energy and decreases fatigue, although the FDA has not yet tested any of these suppositions.

    Warning

    • Relacore is not FDA-approved, nor are there any key or active ingredients published on the product's official website. Therefore, users need to be cautious, as the supplement could contain certain ingredients to which they might be allergic. Talk to your doctor before taking this or other diet supplements.
