Seven Day Weight Loss Plan

We have all been there. The class reunion, family gatherings, weddings, etc. These types of occasions give us the impetus to want to lose weight and lose it fast! One of the most popular diets today is the cabbage soup diet. Many have found this to be effective at temporarily dropping pounds, but it is definitely not a sound diet plan for long term health. As with any diet, be sure to consult your doctor before you begin.
  1. Days 1 and 2

    • On the first day of the diet, you may have as much soup as you want. This includes soups that contain low-calorie vegetables like onions, cabbage, or tomatoes. You may use onion and tomato as flavoring as well as bouillon. Drink only water, unsweetened tea, black coffee with no sugar or cream, or 100 percent cranberry juice. Eat any single piece of fruit you want except a banana on this day.

The second day, eat an unlimited amount of soup and raw, cooked or fresh vegetables excluding peas or sweet corn. Do not eat fruit at all, but you may have one starch such as a baked potato with butter only. Drink as much water, unsweetened tea, black coffee, or cranberry juice as you like.

    Days 3 and 4

    • On day three you may combine the first two days with as much soup, veggies, and fruit as you like. Refrain from eating any starches or sweets, as tempting as the latter may be! Drink the same unlimited fluids as the first two days.

Day four will likely find you craving sweet foods, so eat only fruits (including bananas) all day long. Drink water, unsweetened tea, black coffee, and cranberry juice as well as skim milk if desired. Skim milk is allowed only on day four.

    Days 5 and 6

    • On the fifth day of this diet, your body will need protein, which it has been unable to receive over the past four. Through the course of the day, you may have 10 to 20 oz. of beef, baked chicken, or broiled fish; whichever one of the three you prefer. Drink at least eight glasses of water and no other liquids today. This will flush out the uric acid buildup from the fruits and vegetables and keep your kidneys functioning properly.

On day six, you may have an unlimited amount of your protein of choice, vegetables, and soup, but no starches.

    Day 7 And Beyond

    • No starches or protein are allowed on the last day of this diet. Soups and vegetables are permitted in unlimited quantities and drink only water, unsweetened tea, black coffee, or cranberry juice.

After one week of this diet, you should have been able to shed some pounds. Enjoy this temporary loss of weight for whatever the reason is you are on this diet. Do not continue eating this way, as this -seven-day diet is not well balanced with vitamins and minerals and does not provide all of the nutrients needed to maintain health.
