Fruit & Water Diets

Fruit and water diets are variations of a raw diet. The diet can be done for anywhere from one day to several months in order to help you achieve desired results. A one day fruit and water diet will help you rid yourself of bloating, but you won't lost any real weight. A three day fruit and water diet will work as a detox for your body. Continuing the diet for a month or longer will help you to lose weight naturally.
  1. Go Raw

    • The fruit and water diet is a raw foods diet as nothing that you will be eating will be cooked. You can eat as much fruit as you want, just make sure to vary between fruits higher in sugar such as apples and melons and fruits high in fiber such as berries. Drink water throughout the day, but especially with your meals. Try to drink between six and eight eight-ounce glasses of water everyday to ensure that your diet will work to maximum advantage.

    Adding in Veggies

    • After the first three days of your fruit and water diet you may feel the need to add something else into the diet. A variation of the fruit and water diet also includes raw vegetables. Adding several servings of raw vegetables to the food that you eat everyday will help your body to replace nutrients that it is not getting from the fruit and water. Make sure to eat green vegetables that are low in calories but high in protein and nutrients such as spinach.

    Sources of Protein

    • As you continue your fruit and water diet, even if you have added in some raw vegetables, you may still find that you need an additional source of protein. Nuts are a good source of protein and can be eaten raw to make them work with your fruit and water diet. Make sure to limit the amount of nuts that you eat per day to only one or two servings as nuts are much higher in fat and calories than fruit or vegetables which may cause your weight loss to slow. A good choice for a raw nut to add to your fruit and water diet would be almonds because they are high in protein and other nutrients.
