Guide to Rapid Weight Loss

Rapid weight loss should be undertaken with extreme care. It should never be used as a permanent solution for long-term weight loss and should not be done frequently. However, for those who would like to jump-start their diet and see immediate results, there are ways to accomplish this.
  1. Diet Pills

    • Pills and over-the-counter supplements are a popular way to initiate quick weight loss. But read the labels carefully and never take more than the maximum daily amount. These are only for very healthy individuals. There will be a list of exclusions warning those who have certain conditions not to take these pills and supplements. If you have any health problems whatsoever, do not take weight-loss pills before consulting with your doctor.

    Exercise

    • An exercise program aimed at losing weight quickly should focus on cardiovascular exercises. They include running, walking, swimming, bicycling, and any other aerobic activity that gets your heart pumping fast. For quick fat loss, engage in interval training: exert maximum effort for as long as you can, then rest and repeat the cycle. For example, if you run on a track, you can gauge speed and distance. Sprint the straight part of the track as fast as you can then walk the curves slowly. The roller coaster of getting your heart rate up to extremely high levels, then bringing them down over and over will initiate quick fat loss. Just be sure to drink plenty of water while engaging in such a workout. Push yourself only to fatigue, not to a point of collapse.

    Nutrition

    • For rapid weight loss, eat a high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet. Eat only lean meats along with fish and chicken. Reduce vegetable and fruit intake as these contain sugars that will be stored in fat cells. Carbs are the first in line to fuel exercise, then fats. With a high-protein diet, no carbs or sugars can be utilized as energy to fuel a workout. Current fat stores will be tapped into and burned during exercise so fat loss will be more immediate. This is only a temporary fix to lose a few pounds quickly. Do not follow this type of diet over a long period of time because fruits, vegetables, and complex carbohydrates are vitally important for overall health.
