Exercises That Work Your Lower Tummy
Whether you're working on a flat stomach or building six-pack abs, you can do some exercises to work your lower stomach. Repeat these exercises at least three days a week, doing 10-12 repetitions for each move, and add in some cardio to help shed those pounds. Combine them with exercises targeting other areas of the body for a full body workout that will leave you looking and feeling your best.-
Reverse Crunch
-
Lie on your stomach and have a partner hold your ankles so your feet remain on the floor. Place your hands behind your head and lift your upper body at the waist to do a backward crunch.
Bicycle
-
Lie on your stomach and raise your legs, bent at the knees to form a 90-degree angle. Move your legs in alternating circles as if you're pedaling a bicycle.
Leg Lifts
-
Stand up straight and hold on to a table or chair for support. Keep your legs straight and raise one behind you. Hold it a few inches above the floor for five seconds before lowering that leg and repeating with the other leg.
Bridge
-
Lie on your stomach and place your hands under your hips with your feet flat on the floor. Raise your hips until your body is in a straight line from your knees to your head. Hold this position for a few seconds before slowly lowering your body to the ground.
Twisted Crunches
-
Lie on your back with your feet on the floor and your hands behind your head. Raise your upper body to do a crunch, but twist at the waist while pulling the leg you are twisting towards into your chest. Your knee and elbow should touch before you lower your body and repeat on the other side.
