Homemade Remedies to Speed Up Metabolism

If your metabolism is low, it could because you have are on a low-calorie diet, have been fasting, are eating too many sugary foods, are not active enough or have an under-active thyroid. Assuming that the problem is not your thyroid, which can be treated with medication, there are ways to speed up your metabolism.-
Regular Meals
-
Skipping meals will lower your metabolism. Your body will go into a "starvation mode" and store more fat. Five to six small meals through the day is ideal to keep your body burning the calories.
Exercise and Build Muscle
-
Regular exercise will increase your metabolism. The more active you are, the more calories you will burn. Muscle burns tremendously more calories than fat. One pound of fat burns two calories each day, compared to one pound of muscle burning 50 calories each day.
Apple Cider Vinegar Blend and Other Boosters
-
A blend of apple cider vinegar plus honey and garlic will help to increase your metabolism. Other foods that can boost your metabolism include chili, green tea, coffee, high-fiber foods such as oatmeal, whole grains and rolled oats, almonds, raspberries, cayenne pepper, broccoli and mustard.
Plenty of Water
-
You should drink at least eight to 10 glasses of water every day.
Good Nutrition
-
Be sure to eat foods with good nutritional values. Junk foods containing high amounts of sugar and fat are not going to help build muscle. A healthy, balanced diet with all of the vitamins and minerals you need will provide you with the energy to keep moving.
Alcohol, Sugar and Fasting
-
You should avoid drinking any alcoholic beverages and eating foods that contain a lot of sugar. Fasting is not a good idea if you want to keep your metabolism at a high rate. It will bring about that "starvation mode" mentioned before.
