How Can Someone Lose Weight Fast?

The speed of weight loss is influenced by how much weight there is to lose and whether diet and exercise are used together. As a general rule, it's safe to lose about 1 lb. per week. For a very obese person, this number is closer to 2 or 3 lbs. per week. Here are some specific things someone can do to lose weight fast.
  1. Replacing Drinks with Water

    • Replacing soda, juice and coffee with water can shave off enough daily calories to lose 1 or 2 lbs. each week depending on how much of these drinks the person usually drinks.

30 Minutes of Moderate Cardiovascular Exercise

    • Walking or jogging hard enough to make it slightly difficult to speak during the activity on most days per week will help drop off another few hundred calories each day, depending on the size of the person.

    Weight Lifting

    • Spend 2 to 3 days each week lifting enough weight to make the muscle tired after 8 to 12 repetitions. This will increase metabolism and burn more calories faster.

Eat Every 3 to 4 Hours

    • Starting with breakfast within 2 hours of waking up, eat each meal this way: breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack to keep the metabolism burning all day and prevent overeating and excessive hunger. Be sure the meals are small: not much bigger than the snacks.

Replace Refined Carbs with Whole Grains

    • Make at least half of the grains you eat each day from brown rice, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread and whole oats.
