How to Make Myself Skinny

Losing weight and achieving your ideal body size takes patience and effort. However, regardless of whether you're looking to shed 5 lbs. or 50, there are different ways to lose weight and make yourself skinny. The key is choosing a weight loss plan that's right for your body and lifestyle, and then sticking with that plan.

Instructions

    • 1

Eat 500 fewer calories a day. Losing more than 2 lbs. a week is unhealthy. To achieve your weight loss goals and make yourself skinny, strive to lose between 1 and 2 lbs. a week. Reduce your calorie intake by 500 a day, and you'll lose 1 lb. of fat in a week (1 lb of fat equals 3,500 calories.)

    • 2

Establish an exercise routine. You can lose weight without exercise. However, if you want to make yourself skinny, start an exercise routine and workout at least three times a week for 30 minutes. Burn calories and fat by participating in high- and low-impact workouts such as jogging, walking, aerobics swimming and biking.

Reduce your fat and carbohydrate intake. Eating a large amount of fats and carbohydrates impedes weight loss efforts. Choose low-fat or fat-free snacks, and stay away from fast foods and fried foods. Limit your carb intake to 130 grams a day, and reduce your intake of simple sugars (candy, cake, ice cream and other sugary treats).

Boost your metabolism. A high rate of metabolism burns fat and contributes to weight loss. To make yourself skinny, increase your metabolism by eating breakfast and eating four to six small meals a day. Skipping a meal or going hours without eating slows down your metabolism.

Drink plenty of water. Water is essential to weight loss. Drink eight glasses of water a day to flush excess sugar, salt and toxins from your body. Too much sodium results in water retention, which can add pounds. Water also helps you feel full, helping you to eat less.
