To get rid of belly fat you will need to put forth effort, but not the kind where you practically kill yourself to do it. Unrealistic expectations is what usually makes weight loss difficult. You need to get real and know that it took a while to get that extra weight, therefore, it will take time to get it off.

The first thing you need to do is have small doable goals. For example, you can set a goal of not eating junk food for 1 day this is a doable goal for most anyone. An unrealistic goal would be to not ever eat junk food again. See the difference? I write my goals down on a dry eraser board so I can change it as needed.

The next step is to figure out how to get in more activity. It doesn't need to be a routine in the beginning you can work your way into it slowly. Playing with kids is great if you have kids, extra cleaning and yard work is another way to burn calories. Washing the car instead of going to the car wash is yet another way. De-cluttering the garage and washing windows works too.

The idea is to get busy, get moving, these small steps motivate you to get started. The more you do the more you get rid of belly fat.

Once you start writing down doable goals and being active you will feel better about yourself and gain confidence. You may have already lost a little weight if you've been consistent. Now, you can begin to do a little more here and there. Add an extra day to your doable goal like no junk food for 2 days. Drink only water for 3 days etc.

Start doing a Yoga exercise video, Yoga is a relaxing form of exercise. You ease into it until finally you have healthy eating habits and an exercise program in place. But you have to begin with small doable goals or else you get overwhelmed and quit.

To get rid of belly fat you don't need a special diet, exercise equipment or anything to start losing. That will come later when you feel like you're ready for it. Until then you keep going a little at time even a loss of a pound a week is a victory.

Within 30 days you should be ready to watch calories and do a more strenuous workout. Start with 1500 calories a day if you can and do a faster pace video like the Biggest Loser or Billy Blanks' beginner boot camp. Maybe even join the YMCA and do a class there. Do not pressure yourself if you're not ready then don't do it. The main thing is to keep doing something and not quit.

Eat small portions several times a day and don't allow yourself to get hungry. Hungry people overeat! Watch salt intake it makes you retain water weight. Set doable goals not unrealistic ones. Get a partner to exercise with for motivation and support.
