How to Speed Up the Metabolism Without Using Pills
Diet pills and other "miracle" products promising weight loss actually end up wrecking your metabolism in the long-run. To achieve and maintain a healthy weight, there are several ways to amp up your metabolism in a natural manner. Losing weight involves so much more than simply how many calories you eat a day. Make a few changes in your daily life and you will burn more calories, even when you're just sitting at your desk.Instructions

1
Eat a healthy breakfast within the first hour of waking up. This could be toast, eggs, yogurt or oatmeal, as long as it provides you with some nutrition and energy to start the day. After a full night's sleep, your body has already gone 8 hours without getting any energy, so if you lag on breakfast your body will start to hoard calories, which is the opposite of what you want.

2
Drink green tea in the morning, and then throughout the day whenever you get the chance. Green tea has been proven to boost metabolic rate, and works best if you drink at least a few cups each day.

3
Step up your physical activity at least one notch and be consistent with it. You will be making a difference in the long term. If you drive to work every day and have no time for "working out," you can simply take a half hour walk during your lunch break each day. If you regularly walk and bike to get around, pick up a yoga or aerobics class twice a week to speed up your metabolism.

Munch throughout the day instead of eating a couple of really bulky meals. By eating small quantities of healthy foods (such as walnuts or granola bars), you will keep your metabolism running strong and in turn burn off whatever you consume much more quickly.

5
Drink at least 8 8-oz. glasses of water per day. Not only is water required for your metabolism to run smoothly and work properly, but it also helps discourage you from eating when you're not truly hungry. Oftentimes when we believe we're hungry, we're actually just dehydrated and in need of fluids.
