Join Weight Watchers online or in person at a local meeting. Fees are involved in joining that vary with specials. If you need a weekly reminder of your weight goals and others to be accountable, the weekly meetings will work best for you. If you are better working the system on your own, the online plan will work best for you. Doing both is recommended. You are given tools to help you start the point system. These tools, whether online or in written format, give you guidelines as to how many points worth of food you can eat per day.

Calculate your current weight and height to find out what the points value you can eat per day is. Each food is given a points value. This can vary depending on your daily exercise routine and as you lose weight. Calculate each meal for the points value of the food and only eat the food within your points allowance. Spread out the points throughout the day including small snacks.
