How to Calculate Your BMI in Centimeters

Body mass index (BMI) determines the fatness of the body, which is calculated from height and weight of a person. Although it is not a direct measure of body fat, it is the most reliable screening tool to determine body fatness. You can calculate your BMI beginning with your height in centimeters.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure your height in centimeters (cm).

    • 2

Convert the centimeters into meters (m) by dividing the centimeters by 100. For example, if your height is 170 cm, your height is 1.7 m (170/100 = 1.7).

    • 3

Measure your body weight in kilograms (kg).

    • 4

Calculate your BMI. Divide your weight in kilograms by your height squared. For example, if you weigh 70 kg and are 1.7 m tall, your BMI is 24.22 (70 kg/1.7*1.7 = 24.22).
