How to Mix Infant Cereal With Juice

Before the age of six months, all babies need for nutrients is breast milk or formula. An infant's first solid food is usually a single grain rice or oat cereal mixed with breast milk, formula, or water into a super fine mush so it is easy for baby to swallow and digest. Sometimes, however, introducing solids can lead to constipation, since baby's digestive tract is used to a liquid-only diet. According to Family Education, 100 percent fruit juice can be mixed with cereals for infants 4 to 6 months old. This may help to ease baby's constipation.
