How to Treat a Sinus Infection During Pregnancy

During pregnancy, the ailments and infections insinuated into the body are treated in way that are quite different from the way these ailments are treated in people who are not pregnant. During pregnancy, the blood supply to the respiratory tract lining gets raised as a result of the hormonal level change that the body undergoes. This rise in the blood supply level to the respiratory tract gets expressed as a bleeding nose, which may result in a congested nose. Under such circumstances, the incidence of a sinus infection is doubled. It presents itself at an early stage as a running nose, which when left untreated, is followed by nasal discharge and tenderness in the maxillary bones.

      Add ¼ tsp of salt to 8 ounces of distilled water, and stir nicely in a sterilized beaker or container.

      Suck the solution into a dropper. Lie down and administer saline drops into each nostril. Stay in the same position for sometime, and then blow out your nose. You will observe that a major portion of mucus being expelled.

      Perform this task approximately three to five times a day to relieve congestion of the nostrils and infection of the maxillary sinus. Continue as needed until the congestion subsides.
