How to Use Colloidal Silver on Infants

Colloidal silver is purported to help treat skin problems, skin irritations and even burns. It is also believed to have certain medicinal properties, and is often used as an alternative form of treatment for other conditions. With infants, there is some belief that the use of colloidal silver can actually help remedy diaper rash. However, the Food and Drug Administration does not consider this substance as a safe or effective method of treating any sort of condition, because its use does hold a potential risk.

Instructions

    • 1

Consult your pediatrician. Before you ever consider using colloidal silver on an infant, you should consult with your pediatrician. She can help come up with a treatment plan, and tell you whether or not you should use colloidal silver on your child.

    • 2

Pour the colloidal silver solution into a spray bottle. To apply colloidal silver, especially when using it to treat diaper rash, you'll need to transfer the solution into a spray bottle.

    • 3

Remove your infant's diaper. When your child needs her diaper changed, simply remove the diaper, and go through your normal process of cleaning her.

    • 4

Spray the colloidal silver solution on the areas that are currently affected with diaper rash. You only need to lightly moisten the area with colloidal silver, so don't go over board.

    • 5

Spray the colloidal silver solution on the fresh diaper. Before replacing the diaper with a fresh one, lightly spray it with the colloidal silver.

    • 6

Continue to use the colloidal silver solution each time you change your infant's diaper. Whenever you need to change your infant's diaper, simply spray a little colloidal silver on the affected areas of the skin and diaper. You should see a change in the diaper rash within 24 to 48 hours.
