### How to Bathe Your Baby
Giving your baby a bath is a great way to bond and relax with them. It's also an important part of keeping your baby clean and healthy. Here are some tips on how to bathe your baby:
1. Gather your supplies. You will need:
* A soft washcloth or sponge
* Baby soap or shampoo
* A clean towel
* A diaper
* A changing pad
2. Prepare the bath. Fill the tub with about 2-3 inches of warm water. The water should be comfortable to the touch, but not too hot. Add a small amount of baby soap or shampoo to the water.
3. Undress your baby. Remove your baby's clothes and diaper. If your baby is a boy, you may want to put a cotton ball over the tip of his penis to prevent him from urinating during the bath.
4. Place your baby in the tub. Support your baby's head and neck with one hand while you gently lower them into the tub. Use the other hand to sponge your baby's body with soapy water. Be sure to get all the nooks and crannies, including the folds of the skin, the back of the neck, and the diaper area.
5. Rinse your baby. Use a clean cup or pitcher to pour warm water over your baby's body to rinse off the soap or shampoo. Be sure to rinse all the soap out of your baby's hair.
6. Lift your baby out of the tub. Support your baby's head and neck with one hand while you gently lift them out of the tub. Use the other hand to wrap your baby in a towel.
7. Dry your baby. Pat your baby dry with a soft towel. Be sure to dry all the creases in the skin, including the folds of the neck, the back of the knees, and the diaper area.
8. Diaper your baby. Put a clean diaper on your baby.
9. Dress your baby. Put clean clothes on your baby.
10. Enjoy your baby! Hold your baby close and enjoy some cuddle time.
Tips:
* If your baby is fussy during the bath, try talking to them or singing to them. You can also try giving them a toy to play with.
* If your baby has any skin problems, talk to your doctor before bathing them.
* It's important to bathe your baby regularly to keep them clean and healthy. How often you bathe your baby will depend on their age and activity level.
