Why do babies with low temperature die at birth?

This statement is not entirely accurate. While newborns with low body temperatures can be at risk for a number of complications, it's not necessarily the sole cause of death. There are many factors that contribute to infant mortality, and low body temperature can be one of them, but it is not the only cause.
