How long do premature babies stay in the hospital?
During their time in the hospital, premature babies are closely monitored by a team of healthcare professionals. They may receive a variety of treatments, including oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, IV fluids, antibiotics, and surgery. They are also closely monitored for any complications that may develop, such as respiratory problems, infections, and developmental delays.
Once premature babies are stable and meeting certain medical milestones, they may be discharged from the hospital. However, they may still require follow-up care from a pediatrician or other healthcare provider to monitor their growth and development.
