Instructions

    • 1

Clean the sink or the tub in which you are going to bathe your baby. If you're using the kitchen sink, make sure it has been thoroughly cleaned before putting the bather into the sink.

    • 2

Place the bather in the sink or tub and turn on the water. You can use a water thermometer, but it's not necessary; using water that feels slightly warm on your skin is just fine.

    • 3

Undress your baby and have him nearby while you prepare the bath. Have your baby shampoo, washcloth and other items ready.

    • 4

Place the baby in the bather and then run water in the baby bather so your child will be slightly immersed. Some parents fill the bather up to the baby's belly button. Your baby should enjoy the feel of the water and relax when placed in the water.

Bathe your baby by placing a quarter-sized amount of baby shampoo on the washcloth or sponge you are using and gently washing the baby from her feet on up. Clean her private area washing the crevices that collect bacteria gently and thoroughly.

Rinse out your sponge or washcloth, then rinse your baby off. Drain the water out of the bottom of your bather by pulling the plug located along the bottom of the bather. Pick your baby up in a towel. Immediately apply lotion to your baby to trap the moisture in the baby's skin from the water.
