Instructions

  1. Soak the Toys in a Bleach Solution

    • 1

Select the washable toys. Avoid soaking toys that are porous, stuffed or those with holes that will allow mold to grow.

    • 2

Soak the toys in Clorox bleach solution. Combine ¾ cup of bleach for each gallon of water.

    • 3

Allow the toys to soak for 5 minutes. Rinse the toys with water and allow them to air dry.

Spray the toys with a Bleach Solution

    • 4

Fill a spray bottle with ¼ cup of Clorox bleach.

    • 5

Add water to the bottle to fill it completely.

    • 6

Place the toys out and spray with the solution.

    • 7

Allow the toys to sit for 30 minutes, and then rinse thoroughly.

    • 8

Allow them to air dry completely. You can also dry them off with a clean lint-free towel.

Clean the Toys in the Washing Machine

    • 9

Place machine washable toys in the washing machine. Check the toys for electronic devices because these will need to be removed to prevent damaging the toys and your washing machine.

    • 10

Place the toys inside a tied pillowcase to keep them from ruining clothes.

    • 11

Mix ¾ cup of Clorox bleach with a quart of water.

    • 12

Add the solution to the machine after it runs for 5 minutes.

    • 13

Check the tags to see if the toys are dryer safe. Set them out to air dry them in the sun, or dry them off with a hair dryer. Allowing the wet toys to sit out may cause them to mold or smell sour.
