Monitor what your child eats. Avoid sugar and other junk foods, including chemical-laden packaged food. Encourage your child to eat vegetables and fruits, including berries, that contain various nutrients to boost their immune systems. Eating organic fruits can limit exposure to chemicals, which can harm a developing immune system.

Give your child omega-3 and probiotic supplements. Omega-3s can build up the immune system, and probiotics can undo the damage that taking antibiotics causes.

Check with your doctor about giving your child appropriate vitamin A and vitamin C supplements. Although both of these vitamins will help your child's immune system, vitamin A can be toxic in large doses, and an overdose of vitamin C will not be absorbed by your child's body.
