Children Brain Tumor Symptoms

Brain tumors are the most prevalent type of tumor found in children. Each year, more than 2,000 children in the U.S. are affected by brain tumors. Brain tumor symptoms vary greatly and depend on the location and size of the tumor.
  1. Headache

    • Increased pressure inside the cranial cavity will usually result in headaches.

    Stomach Symptoms

    • Children with brain tumors often experience nausea and may vomiting during the morning hours.

    Sleepiness

    • Children with brain tumors may be unusually sleepy.

    Mood Changes

    • Brain tumors may cause irritability, depression and even changes in overall personality.

    Severe Symptoms

    • Left untreated, brain tumors can effect the brain's ability to regulate respiration and cardiac activity.

    Other Possible Symptoms

    • Brain tumors may cause other symptoms such as coordination difficulties, loss of sensation, hearing loss, memory loss, seizures, speech impairment and vision impairment.
