How to Treat A Sty On Your Eyelid

Sty's are small bumps that you get on your eye lid, and are very annoying. Some sty's can even be painful. Most sty's will heal themselves and do not require medical attention. This is some steps to help you treat the sty.

Instructions

    • 1

Remember that sty' s will usually go away on there own. There are a few things you should never do to a sty.
      1. Never squeeze the sty.
      2. Never poke the sty with a needle.
      3.Do not rub your eye.

    • 2

Get a cold towel if your eye begins to itch. Let it sit on your eye to reduce the itch.

    • 3

Wash your eye with a warm towel. Do this several times a day. It may help the sty go away faster.

    • 4

Stop purchasing over the counter sty medication. I have yet to find one that speeds the process. Using the warm towel works just as well.

    • 5

Avoid using eye make up, or anything close to your eyes. Keep the eye area clean.

If the sty remains for more than a week, contact your doctor. You may need more treatments.
