How to Test for Pinworm
Pinworms, sometimes called threadworms or seatworms, are small, white parasitic worms that reside in the large intestine. Pinworm infection is most common with children, although adults are not immune to infection. Pinworms do not cause serious health issues, but should be treated immediately. Anal itching is the most common side effect, as the pinworms travel to the rectum to lay eggs.Things You'll Need

1
Carefully inspect the outer edge of the anus 2 to 3 hours after the child has fallen asleep. Pinworms are most active late at night and can often be seen on the anus. Pinworms are usually white and about a half of an inch in length.
-
2
Apply a strip of clear tape to the anus immediately after the child wakes up. Remove the tape and store it in a sealed container. Although it is unlikely you will catch a visible pinworm with the tape, it is likely you will catch pinworm eggs.

3
Bring the strip of tape to your physician to be tested. Pinworm eggs cannot be seen by the naked eye. Repeat the process for a few consecutive days to better your chances of catching pinworm eggs.
