How to Treat Vomiting in Toddlers
Treating vomiting in toddlers can be very different then treating older child vomiting or treating adults who are vomiting or are otherwise sick to their stomachs. Because of their small size, toddler vomiting should be treated differently than vomiting in older children or in adults. When your toddler is sick, you will immediately react in fear, but it is important to stay calm and treat your toddler vomiting carefully and calmly.Instructions

1
Call your doctor about your toddler vomiting. While you may think that toddler vomiting is simple--and it very well may be a simple stomach bug or something that your toddler ate--as long as your toddler is not generally ill or prone to vomiting you should get in touch with your pediatrician as soon as your toddler displays stomach symptoms or toddler vomiting. Your doctor will be able to recognize any unusual symptoms in your toddler and can advise you on treatment.

Take steps to keep your toddler from getting dehydrated. Vomiting is a quick way to dehydrate the body, and because of the small size of your toddler, he or she will get dehydrated very quickly. Make sure that you keep your toddler hydrated; have him or her drink as much water as they are comfortable with, or try having them drink a fruit juice or sparkling water or ginger ale.

Consult with your child's pediatrician before giving them any over the counter nausea or flu drugs. You should avoid medicating your child more than necessary when they are exhibiting toddler vomiting.
