If your child has a diaper rash from thrush, make sure to change the diaper frequently and keep genitalia dry. Also apply a diaper rash ointment to the affected area to help with any discomfort.

Give your child cold liquids, like water or diluted juice. The temperature of the liquid can help any mouth discomfort your child may be experiencing.

If your child is older, you can give her ice cream, pudding and yogurt. These cool foods are easy to swallow and won't cause huge amounts of mouth discomfort.

Give your child a pain reliever. If your child has a sore throat or mouth pain, a pain reliever will help ease the pain.

Give your child medication prescribed by a doctor. In the event that the above steps don't work or your child's doctor feels medication is necessary, the doctor may prescribe an anti-fungal medication that can be applied topically or taken orally.
