1
Check the tag on your Sootheze stuffed animal. You will see different icons that indicate the way to use the product. The words "I'm warm" indicate that you can heat it. "I'm cool" indicates you can freeze it. "I smell nice" indicates aromatherapy. Look for instructions that accompany the product to learn specific use and care recommendations, if possible.

2
Place an "I'm warm" stuffed animal into a clean microwave oven to heat it. Do not heat the stuffed animal in a soiled microwave oven. The odors from the foods inside the microwave may transfer to the product. Follow specific timing instructions based on the size of the stuffed animal -- one to two minutes is an average heating time. Remove the stuffed animal from the microwave and feel the surface thoroughly to ensure there are no hot spots. The stuffed toy should stay warm for one to four hours.

3
Insert an "I'm cool" stuffed animal into a plastic freezer bag, squeeze out the excess air and zip the bag closed. Place the stuffed animal into the freezer for at least two hours. Remove the toy and take it out of the plastic bag. The stuffed animal should stay cool for approximately one hour, depending on the ambient temperature where you use the toy.

4
Use the "I smell nice" stuffed animal with or without heating or cooling (according to the specific instructions for the product) to enjoy the calming and relaxing benefits of the herbs. These products contain a combination of lavender, hyssop, eucalyptus, rose buds and other herbs that may soothe pain and anxiety.

5
Surface-wash the stuffed animal when necessary. If the outer cover is removable, take it off and hand wash it with cool water and mild dish soap. Let the cover air-dry or blow dry it with a blow dryer. Use a moist cloth and dish soap to surface-wash the inner surface of the stuffed animal or to wash a product without a removable cover. Do not submerge a stuffed animal to wash it -- the flaxseeds and herbs will not withstand submersion.
