How to Handle a Scraped Knee

Scraped knees are common among people of all ages, particularly those practicing a sport such as rollerskating, dancing, wrestling or bike riding. Kneepads protect against scraped knees in most cases, but some prefer not to wear them for aesthetic or comfort reasons. Unless a scraped knee is very deep, bleeding heavily or looks infected, you can handle the minor injury at home with standard first aid supplies.

Cleanse the area around the wound with soapy water and a washcloth.

    • 4
