What Holiday Heart

Holiday Heart is a 1997 romantic drama film directed by Laurie Lynd, from a screenplay by Lynd, Karen Leigh Hopkins, and Matt Dorff, based on characters created by Lynd and Leigh Hopkins. Plot

Holiday Heart is set in Seattle, Washington, and follows the story of Georgia Walker (Ally Sheedy), a transgender woman who works as a caterer. She lives with her boyfriend Buddy Walker (Vincent D'Onofrio), a recovering alcoholic and construction worker. Georgia dreams of becoming a lounge singer and performs part-time at local clubs.

Georgia meets a talented musician named Luke (Kyle MacLachlan), and they fall in love. Luke is not initially aware that Georgia is transgender. Georgia decides to tell Luke her secret, but she finds it difficult to reveal the truth. Georgia's secret leads to the two lovers separating and Georgia having a breakdown. However, with support from her friends, including her best friend, Queen Latifah (Winona Ryder), Georgia eventually finds the courage and happiness to be true to herself.

Holiday Heart is a touching story of love, acceptance, and courage. The film explores themes of gender identity, sexuality, friendship, and following your dreams. It celebrates diversity and the power of self-acceptance, while challenging traditional gender stereotypes.
