According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 793,000 people died by suicide worldwide in 2020. This represents a global mortality rate of 11.6 deaths per 100,000 population. Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death among people aged 15-29 years, and the second leading cause of death among people aged 10-19 years.
