Medicaid is a state and federal government program that provides medical coverage to low-income citizens in the United States. Fill out the preliminary application for assistance online at the Access Florida website. The Access Florida website is the state government link for all public aid programs.
Go through the process of applying for medicaid on this site in order to put your application into the system.

Call the Access Florida information line at 1-866-76ACCESS or 1-866-762-2237. The Access Florida Information Line is operated by DCF and will put you in contact with a the official call center for Florida Medicaid. Follow the instructions on the automated system until you are able to locate the assistance you need. The automated call system is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you do not get the help you need through the automated system, call the call center during regular business hours Monday through Friday, you will be able to speak to a live call center representative who should be able to provide help with your Medicaid application.

Locate your local Department of Children and Families office by visiting the DCF website and selecting the link for locating an office near you. Scroll through the drop-down list of counties on the left side of the screen and select the county in which you live to receive the address of the DCF office closest to you.
There will be staff on site in these offices who can assist you in filing your application, though you should call the office before you arrive in case you need to schedule an appointment.
