Time Frame

You can start taking the mini pill on the first day of your period. You can start taking the mini pill six weeks after giving birth if you are exclusively breastfeeding, or three weeks after if you are not exclusively breastfeeding.
Pregnancy

You can get pregnant while taking the mini pill. There is a 0.5 percent chance you will get pregnant in one year if you take the mini pill correctly.

Indications

There are no reasons to take the mini pill if you know that you are pregnant. The mini pill is only to be used to prevent pregnancy. If you find out that you are pregnant, you should stop taking the mini pill.
