How to Find a Research Article on Motherhood

For first-time mothers, motherhood can be as exciting as it is scary. However, for experienced mothers, the act of raising a child provides a valuable learning experience. Raising children changes a mother's life, prompting new challenges, questions and theories about raising a child. Research articles provide answers and solutions for problems some mothers may face. Finding a research article requires that you look in certain websites to find exactly what type of information you are seeking.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit a research data website. Using a search engine, type "free research article databases." Most university websites will publish research articles on popular topics, such as motherhood, which make their way to free article database sites, such as the Education Research Information Center.

    • 2

Select the "Search" feature on the website. Most websites will provide a search option for finding information on their website. In the type box, enter "Research articles." Each website keeps a database of all the articles published within education or by private and public sector researchers.

    • 3

Search the database by the subject or by the keyword. If a keyword option is available, type "Motherhood" to locate all the articles written on motherhood. If no keyword option is available, select the most appropriate subject, such as motherhood topics in health, literature or economics and finance.
