How to Put on Compression Knee Highs
Compression knee highs are long socks that offer a gradient of pressure from the foot to the knee. They are often worn by both men and women to help pump blood back to the heart. In addition, they reduce swelling in the feet, potential blood clotting and relief from varicose veins. Wearing the compression tights can be uncomfortable because they are made from strong elastic. Before rushing out to purchase the tights, ask your doctor to measure your leg so you purchase the right size.Things You'll Need

1
Put the compression knee highs on before you get out of bed. While you are sleeping there is no need to wear the compression knee highs; they should be accessible to you as soon as you wake.
-
2
Apply a small amount, 1 tsp. or more as needed, of the liquid silicone to the inside of the knee high. This will help the knee high slide over your foot. Because the knee high is designed to be tight, it will be difficult to pull up. Once it is up it may be uncomfortable for the first few wears until your legs adjust to the pressure.
-
3
Work the knee high over your foot and around your ankle. The ankle will be the toughest place to work around because of the heel bone. Request help from another person, if possible, to work around the ankle bone.
-
4
Pull the knee high upward until it reaches your knee. You will immediately feel the pressure difference within your leg. Repeat the process with the other leg.

5
Remove the knee high at night. If possible, elevate your legs when the knee high is off.
