How to Wash Plastic Eye Lenses

Plastic lenses can take more abuse than glass lenses, but they're particularly prone to smudges and debris. Keeping your lenses clean helps lower eyestrain and prevents headaches and other maladies. You can wash your plastic lenses with a few household products whenever their dirtiness becomes a distraction. Once your lenses are clean, your vision quality will immediately improve.

      Run your eyeglasses under warm water for a few seconds to loosen dust and other debris. You can wash both the lenses and the frames.

      Apply a small drop of dishwashing soap to your fingers and rub it over your lenses. Dishwashing soap removes dirt and breaks up skin oils that may have accumulated on your glasses.

      Rinse the soap off the glasses with more warm water. Rub the frames and lenses with your fingers to ensure all of the soap is gone.
