1
Massage the scalp gently with 1/4 cup of olive oil. Cover your hair with a shower cap or plastic food bag and leave it on for approximately two to three hours. Leave on overnight for maximum results and rinse out in the morning with a mild shampoo. Then rinse thoroughly with cold water mixed with apple cider vinegar.

2
Allow your hair to dry naturally after a shampoo to avoid damage from a hair dryer. Avoid using a hair dryer or hot curling irons that cause hair to become brittle and dry. Never use a curling iron or flat iron on wet hair to avoid hair breakage. Towel dry your hair gently for maximum benefit. Pat the hair dry with a towel, but never use a circular motion to avoid damaging vulnerable hair follicles.

3
Remove split ends from long hair by having your hair cut on a regular basis by a professional. Split ends cause hair to appear dull and lifeless. Gently brush hair with a natural, soft-bristled brush while it is dry. Brushing wet hair damages it by putting too much pressure on the scalp.

4
Avoid using hair products that have a drying effect on your hair. Some hair sprays contain a large amount of alcohol, which dries your hair and results in an unhealthy "build-up" on the hair and scalp.

5
Consume lots of water everyday and eat a nutritious diet rich in protein and omega-3 fatty acid. Biotin, vitamin C and vitamin E are essential for healthy hair growth. One benefit of maintaining a healthy diet is smooth, strong and glossy hair.
