How to Remove a Band-Aid From a Bleeding Sore

When you have a small cut or scrape that has coagulated, the quickest way to remove the Band-Aid is to grip it on one end and rip it off. We all know it's going to be painful, young children may cry, but it works. However, if you have an open sore or a wound that is extremely sensitive, or you want to avoid making your children cry as you rip the bandage off, use a small dab of oil to separate the Band-Aid from the skin surrounding the sore.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Pour olive or baby oil over a cotton ball, until the cotton is covered in oil.

    • 2

Rub the cotton ball over both adhesive portions of the Band-Aid and allow the oil to soak in for five minutes.

    • 3

Peel the Band-Aid gently upwards. The Band-aid will slide off the skin, instead of ripping thanks to the oil.
